Meet the Bridge Lab

The Bridge Lab is a collaborative team of undergraduate researchers led by Dr. Emily Rolan dedicated to exploring child development, family relationships, and the everyday experiences that shape how we think, learn, and interact. Together, we work to better understand human behavior while gaining hands-on experience in the research process. Meet the people behind the research!

Dr. Emily Rolan, Ph.D.

Dr. Emily Rolan is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Olivet and the director of the Bridge Lab. Her research focuses on child development, family relationships, and the ways everyday behaviors and interactions shape children's development. She is passionate about mentoring undergraduate researchers and providing students with meaningful, hands-on experience in psychological research.

Lily Johnson

Lily is a sophomore majoring in psychology with a clinical concentration. Lily joined the Bridge Lab because she is very interested in how we as humans affect each other, including siblings of course. She is super excited about working with families and eventually seeing the results of everybody's effort. Lily is hoping to apply this experience to future research while in grad school.

Bailey is a sophomore majoring in psychology with a focus on sociocultural topics. She joined the bridge lab because she is interested in human behavior and family relationships. She is on the outreach side of this research, as well as gathering the datacollection. What she is hoping to learn from this lab is how research works in general, to gain more information on behavior and how family relationships impact it, and to carry this information into the future.
